After a great night sleep, we all woke up to another amazing breakfast. Group 1 went down to the woods today to learn how to build woodland shelters and follow a trail blindfolded. We were challenged to find hidden objects in the forest, it was amazing how many we all missed (including a dolphin and teddy bear!). Inside the lodge, we learnt how to move like predators by stealing keys from under a chair without being detected. After lunch, we drove down to West Runton and walked along the beach, searching the rock pools for sea life. We also learnt about erosion and how the cliffs have been worn away over time, and where these rocks have been taken. We then walked up the Beeston Bump, and we were rewarded with an incredible view of the town and coast. To finish off the day, we cosied up in the pavilion to enjoy an evening of storytelling and hot chocolate.

Meanwhile, group 2 ventured out into the rain with big smiles on our faces! We split into our 4 groups and each took part in a different activity which tested a variety of skills! The activities included low ropes, shark infested zip wires, shelter building and teamworking games. By the time our lunch was over and we set off for the afternoon, the skies had cleared and the treasure hunt began for the pirate’s treasure! Every group used their excellent map reading skills to ensure they got the amazing treasure! It was then a quick dash to the dining room to eat our fish and chips before the coach arrived to take us to bowling! We all had an incredibly fun time at bowling and returned to the centre to drink our hot chocolate. A good night sleep will be needed as tomorrow is a very early start ready to go see the seals.
