Our year one children have been getting very green fingered this week and went on a Botany walk around school.

The children enjoyed using their senses to explore the different plants that can be found around the school and thinking about why plants grow in certain areas. When we got back to the classroom the children sketched different plants and completed a fact file on them.

Did you know that Marigolds are really tasty in salads? Or that Basil is sacred in the Hindu culture? Or that Greeks used to use Mint to clean their tables? Our Budding Botanists do now!
