Group 2 spent the morning on the beach learning abuot rock pool habitats and coastline eroision, transportation and deposition. After that we spent some time searching for red jade, green jade and jet samples amongst the shingle. Soon it was time to walk to the Beeston bump and we ate our packed lunches. We saw some amazing views and the weather was good. Then we walked to the coach and went to Cromer. Cromer was quite busy but we visited the church first and we all managed to walk to the top of the tower. The views were outstanding and we could see for miles. After that we went on a mystery town trail around Cromer. We had to solve the clues and find the numbers to crack the secret code. Finally we ended the day with some very interesting, funny and silly stories which were told by an eccentric and unique storyteller. We had a brilliant day!
Group 1 became a crew of pirates today and enjoyed a great day of team building activities here at the Aylmerton centre. Captin Jack set us a range of challenges, including the climbing wall, where we had to travel the whole wall without falling into shark-invested waters. We then had to work as a crew on the pirate's boat to transports our team mates across the sea. The children showed fantastic support and encouragement towards each other during their low ropes challange and created brilliant shelters to protect them from the 'monsoon' (the teachers with a number of water pistols and buckets!) The day ended with our final hunt for the pirate's treasure which we found by following clues through the forest. After dinner, we ended the day with a game of bowling and a hot chocolate before bed.
