Kibworth CE Primary School is part of the EdTech Demonstrator schools and colleges programme, a network selected by the Department for Education (DfE) to offer advice, guidance, and training in effective use of technology. This includes ways technology can be used to support effective remote education arrangements, such as use of digital platforms and devices, as well as considering a long-term digital strategy.

The EdTech Week included live policy panels, professional development sessions and a virtual EdTech Summit, where schools and colleges broadcast live, giving tips and advice to support others. The week also included a contribution from Minister of State for School Standards, Nick Gibb, MP.

Nathan Thirlby, Discovery Schools Director of IT: “We have been working with many schools across the country and within our local area to support them with their approach to EdTech and to help them to embed a clear online learning action plan. EdTech Week 2020 has been a great way to allow schools to engage with this programme and to access support. It has been inspirational, schools have shared ideas and discussed new strategies. It is a very exciting time – we are really beginning to bridge the gap between education and technology.”

Ty Goddard, co-founder of The Education Foundation (one of the programme’s delivery partners) and Chair of EdTech UK, said. " EdTech Week 2020 was live and on-line, with schools and colleges from all over the country delivering advice, tips and support to others.

The EdTech Demonstrator programme helps schools and colleges across England make the best use of digital learning; supporting teachers and pupils benefit from education technology. Funded by the Department for Education this national programme gives schools and colleges a helping hand to develop their on-line teaching and learning methods.

This is all about teachers helping teachers at the most difficult of times. "
