We are very proud of our close relationship with our local Parish Church, St Wilfrid’s. We are very grateful to the members of the Church community who selflessly give their time and expertise to maintain our strong Christian ethos and our school’s high standards.
St Wilfrid’s church was recently named as one of the top 60 churches in Great Britain by the National Churches Trust. Our parish church, which dates back to the 12th century with possible roots going back to the seventh century, was selected by historian and TV presenter Michael Wood who filmed his Story of England BBC series in Kibworth. He praised St Wilfrid’s as “a warm and welcoming place which is packed on the big festivals like Easter or Armistice”.
The Parish Church helps us in many ways. These include: – Governor Support, Church Services, Celebrations, Fundraising and Curriculum Support.
Familiarisation of our church begins in the Foundation Stage when children visit St Wilfrid’s for their class act of worship and learn songs. In Year One the children visit church to listen to religious based stories and learn about Christian services such as Baptisms and Weddings. The church community organises many special events at the church so that each year group has an engaging experience at St. Wilfrid’s. These include ‘The Journey to Bethlehem’, ‘Narnia’ and ‘Heroes and Villains.
As our school is a Church of England School the Diocese appoints members of the Church Community to be governors of our school. These governors are called Foundation Governors and in addition to the normal responsibilities of a governor they ensure that the Church of England character of the school is preserved and developed.

All our children visit St Wilfrid’s regularly for services led by Revd. Fremmer. At Harvest, Christmas, and Easter our children present services in church.
Our children also take part in a range of special services like Christingle and Pentecost.
Members of the Church Community regularly lead the whole school in acts of worship frequently dramatised and based on the ‘Open the Book’ Worship Cycle.
Liz and Gill run the ‘Faith Followers’, a subcommittee of the school council. This group meet every Thursday focussing on our current Christian Value and the Church Calendar.
Main Service – 10:30 a.m. every Sunday
Everyone is warmly welcome to our modern Sunday service. The church opens from 10:00 a.m. for refreshments and a chance to connect before worship begins.
On the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Sundays of the month, Sunday School is held in the Church Hall during the service.
9:30 a.m. Express – First Sunday of the Month
A relaxed, informal 30-minute service ideal for young families and those young at heart. Followed by refreshments in the Church Hall.
New Mums on a Monday
Mondays, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon in St Wilfrid’s Church Hall
A welcoming space for mums with babies aged 0–12 months. Come along for coffee, conversation, and a chance to relax and make new friends.
Sparklers (Under 5s)
Fridays, 1:30 p.m. in the Church and Church Hall (term time only)
A fun and friendly group for under 5s and their carers. Join us for songs, Bible stories, crafts, toys, and refreshments.
Youth Group (Ages 7–14)
First Sunday of each month, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
A Christian youth group for young people aged 7 to 14, offering games, activities, and space to explore faith in a fun and relaxed environment.
